Games that respect your time (and the ones that don't)

Some mobile games are designed around waiting. Timers, energy bars, nagging notifications — they're engineered to pull you back, not to be fun. We've gotten pretty good at spotting them.

The games we recommend tend to share a trait: you can start and stop whenever you want. Tideborne Empire ticks along at your pace. Skyward Relics saves wherever you wander off. That freedom is worth a lot.

Watch for red flags in the first hour. If a game interrupts you constantly, locks progress behind a timer, or feels desperate for your attention, it probably isn't built with your enjoyment first.

A game that's confident in being fun doesn't need to trap you. The best titles make you want to return on their own merit, and those are the ones that stick around on our phones for months.
